Oklahoma Asphalt Recycling and Excavation

Michael (Mike) Krueger, owner of MK Excavation your best choice for an excavator Stillwater, was raised on a farm in northeastern Oklahoma. Today he, along with his wife, Michelle, and three children, reside in Stillwater. During his childhood, Mike would frequently accompany his father to the coal mine, where he was employed as a diesel mechanic, and his interest in heavy equipment began to grow as he helped his father rebuild engines and transmissions. Frequently, Mike’s father would bring home a variety of broken equipment components for Mike to help tear down and prepare for rebuild. The more that he worked on the inner parts of heavy machinery, he began to understand more of how machinery worked, which fueled his interest in what machinery could do and ultimately cultivated his interest in becoming an excavator Stillwater.

During the summers, he would bale hay on his family’s acreage and custom bale hay for neighboring farms, and he became familiar with operating farm tractors and implements. He attended Foyil schools, graduating from Foyil High School in 1997. He attended Rogers State College in Claremore for a couple of years before he realized that it would be more advantageous for him to set aside a formal higher education, and instead, to devote himself to a full-time learning of the business of being an excavator Stillwater. In 1998, at the age of 19, he purchased his first dumptruck. Mike began trucking for his father, who had by this time started his own earthwork business.

During this time, Mike worked on many excavator Stillwater projects of varying degree and size. From installing waterlines for rural water districts, stabilizing streambanks and implementing duck habitats for the Natural Resources Conservation Service, clearing and grubbing for replacement fencing along the Will Rogers Turnpike for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority, and environmental remediation of abandoned oil-field sites coordinated by the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board, Mike accumulated excavator Stillwater knowledge of a wide array of job sites. He acquired the skills and insight necessary to assess a site and accurately estimate cut-to-fill, export, and import quantities and built a reputation for timely completing projects with precision, and integrity.

In 2009, after several years of partnering with his father, Mike and Michelle decided to form their own company in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Mike has continued to complete numerous environmental remediation and excavator Stillwater construction projects for various state agencies, including the OERB and the NRCS, and land improvement projects for private individuals throughout Oklahoma. He has also begun to pursue and secure more commercial projects, including site development for apartment complexes, restaurants, and housing additions. Even with the excavator Stillwater company’s steady growth, private sector projects, from driveways and house pads to ponds and barn pads, remain a large portion of the company’s project load.

In 2019, Mike acquired a crusher to add onto the excavator Stillwater business and began recycling concrete and asphalt from local demolition projects, saving tons of reusable material from going to the landfill or being dumped and creating unsightly waste sites. Large pieces of concrete and asphalt from old roads and building foundations are hauled to the company’s yard and loaded into the crusher. The crusher pulverizes the large pieces into smaller material (1 ½” crusher run and 3” surge) which is suitable for reuse on many road projects and parking lots.
